About the event
Sunday, November 12th, New Moon in Scorpio
6-7:30pm
Join Newtown Wellness Collective’s founder, Jen Rizza and Spiritual Therapist, Victoria Pekhnik, for a blend of meditation, gentle vinyasa yoga flow, restorative poses and space for inquisition, journaling and honoring the invitational time of the new moon. With the new moon in Scorpio, this is a highly transformative time with the new moon in this water sign, a space for fluidity and to unlock, release and examine feelings and truths you've been holding back from expressing.
We’ll start with breathwork, meditation and setting intentions, then move into a gentle yoga flow to explore your 'hidden' truths, followed by restorative poses to release barriers and anything no longer serving you, followed by replenishing energies to center you in your self-actualization. We'll finish the evening and close the circle with intuitive cards and reflections.
The flow practice will follow traditional hatha yoga sequences, all adaptable for varying levels of yoga. Some prior experience with yoga is recommended, though not required. Throughout the flow practice, the invitation will be to move energy through the body, evoking curiosity and possibilty, so that you may then draw forward supportive energies to aid you in taking action towards your intentions through the new lunar cycle.
During the restorative section, this will be a time for introspection, for calling in energies to clarify your voice and truth. These poses will be nourishing, supportive with the use of props, and will offer a time to restore balance and find alignment within. Restorative poses are gentle, relaxing, and held for longer periods of time to give the body and mind a place to slow down and reconnect within.
For anyone familiar with yoga, this will be a rich and deeply soulful yoga practice. And for anyone new to yoga or curious to expand their practice, you are invited to bring an open heart and open mind to explore yoga poses in a safe and welcoming setting.
